Coding Bootcamp Lead Instructor
At CodeSkools we are looking for a Lead Instructor for our upcoming Summer Program who is not only passionate about coding, but also about sharing his/her expertise with the next generation of developers. The Lead Instructor is someone who has an understanding of programming and good development practices gathered from his/her educational journey and real-world experience. You need to be a strong communicator and very patient — you’ll need to be able to explain abstract concepts to high schoolers, many will be first time coders.
The Lead instructor will be responsible for:
Overseeing the whole academic experience
Teaching at High Schools
Managing Teaching Assistants (TA)
Ensuring that our curriculum is delivered properly consistent with our high standards
Coordinating with the High School’s Teacher
Florida as a whole, is inadequately preparing its students for the requirements and demands of a modern workforce, where technology and automation have already and will continue to disrupt and displace thousands of careers.
CodeSkools, seeks to teach Generation Z the skill needed to be truly prepared for a 21st century workforce. In conjunction with county public school systems, CodeSkools immerses incoming seniors into an intensive coding program where students learn the most in-demand computing languages.
CodeSkools offers incoming seniors the ability to be junior full-stack web developers before they even finish high School. CodeSkools adequately prepares students for the technological revolution that is sweeping the world.
Technologies & skills with professional experience:
Deep understanding of computer programming principles.
Follow Engineering best practices to solve problems.
Web Design (Responsive HTML / CSS frameworks / jQuery)
Other technologies that would be useful to have:
At least one additional object-oriented scripting languages SQL Databases
Infrastructure (cloud deployment, security, devOps, performance)
Passion for education: although we don’t require previous formal teaching experience, we’re looking for people that enjoy teaching/mentoring others and that are involved in the coding community.
Experience managing and keeping a team motivated. Can-do attitude and a good sense of humor.
Great communication skills
