A few words about Shawn:
Shawn was recently the Senior Vice President of Product Development at Lulu, the pioneer in self-publishing who enables individuals of all ages to tell their stories via lulu.com and lulujr.com. At Lulu, Shawn oversaw the discovery, development and delivery of Lulu’s products and services to the market.
Shawn brings over 20 years of experience driving business transformation in global technology markets, serving in various executive and senior positions within Product Development and Business Operations. Over his career, he has led the strategic development and delivery of software addressing a broad range of business and consumer needs including web applications, mobile network infrastructure, content licensing and distribution, telecommunications and VoIP.
Starting his career as a Civil Engineer, Shawn’s passion has always been to build new things and introduce new technologies that make the world a better place. After discovering his passion for software development, Shawn embraced product management roles where he learned how to identify market challenges and translate them into revenue opportunities. An advocate of agile development methodologies, Shawn understands the end-to-end software development process in both the B2C and B2B market segments. Having performed in a number of executive roles, Shawn’s savvy of corporate P&L enables him to manage the efficiency of an organization, resulting in the ability to consistently deliver desired financial results.
At a personal level, Shawn serves in a number of advisory roles in the Triangle’s technology community and has a passion for working with start-up companies. Shawn lives in Wake Forest with his wife of 19 years and 2 children, ages 12 and 8. When Shawn isn’t thinking about the next product the market needs, he is practicing his passion for fitness through coaching others to achieve their personal fitness goals.
