Startup Grind Miami Hosts Mark Kingdon (Quixotic Ventures, Second Life & More)

December 8, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm UTC-5

Mark Kingdon, Quixotic Ventures, Second Life & More

Mark Kingdon is a three-time digital CEO, company founder, board member and tech startup investor. He started his career doing digital transformation strategy work even before the advent of the commercial internet. Throughout his career, he’s helped both Fortune 500 companies (in retail and apparel, consumer products, financial services, automotive and telecommunications) and startups (in digital media, online advertising, ecommerce, social media and mobile) develop and execute digital strategies that transform their businesses — accelerating growth and driving profitability.
Mark’s early-stage investments include…

  • Twitter
  • OfferUp
  • Sellbrite
  • Fab.com
  • EveryPost
  • Refinery29
  • TheRealReal

…and over a dozen others.
His strengths are: Executive Management, Digital Transformation, Social Media, Brand Building, Digital Marketing, Customer Acquisition, Consumer Internet, Ecommerce and Business Operations.
Mark leverages these strengths in selecting, investing in and advising startups and for the boards on which he serves. He started angel investing in 2006. Made it his full-time vocation in 2010 and recently gave it a name — Quixotic Ventures.
Why Quixotic? Quixotic means “exceedingly idealistic; unrealistic and impractical” which seems very appropriate for early stage investing.
