Success Stories of Career Changers

September 30, 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Changing careers, particularly in times of uncertainty, can seem daunting. However, it is often one of the best decisions a person can make – especially when changing to an industry that continues to see unprecedented growth.💡

📍Join us on Thursday 30th September at 19:30h CET to listen to some former Ironhack students’ success stories, and how changing careers changed their lives for the better.

Ready?! 🙌

This session will be led by:

👩‍💻 // Catarina Laranjeiro, Frontend Engineer de @StudioGraphene //

I am passionate about music, arts, and technology. Arts led me to graphic design, but technology and arts got me to where I am today – a Frontend Engineer. The idea of building something through lines of code that will be visible and useful to the user fascinates me. I love the challenge involved in deciphering how to create a new feature, or how to solve a problem that is breaking the code.

👨‍💻 // Miguel Valle, Software Developer de @Ryanair //

Psychologist, Traveller, and Rugby player working as a Backend Developer at Ryanair Labs using Javascript, C#, and AWS. Some of my interests are anything related to tech, any kind of team sport, historical films, Spanish XX century novels, and trying new beers.

👨‍💻 // Tomás Aragão, UX/UI Designer de @Deloitte //

I worked for six years in hospitality, and in 2020 decided it was time to change my career. Being creative and with some skills in design, the UX/UI Design course seemed like the perfect match. I enrolled and my new chapter in the world of UX/UI began. Being super driven and proactive, I was able to land a job just 10 days after graduation!

👩‍💻 // Patricia Muñoz de Dios Meixengo, Frontend Engineer de @Glovo//

I originally studied Fashion Design in college, but after two years of doing communication, digital marketing, and social media in two different fashion startups, the pandemic hit. I lost my job but it gave me the perfect opportunity to take the leap into tech, something that had always interested me. Ironhack turned out to be the perfect place in which to do so and I’m super grateful for the opportunities it has given me. Now I work at Glovo as a Software Engineer and I’m learning even more every day, I’m on the path to becoming a great developer and I’m super happy about it.
