GMCC Tech Awards Networking Reception

Join the technology committee and South Florida’s prominent technology executives in the first social networking event of the year.
Discuss the latest trends in technology, and get ready for the Technology Leaders of the Year Awards, where individuals and organizations will enter for
the chance to be recognized as an extraordinary leader in the tech community. Mingle with some of this year’s judges, and enjoy night with fellow experts.
Who is a Technology Leader?
Individuals, organizations and companies that are leaders in the South Florida technology community. These leaders guide the effective use of technology to
improve business performance or to develop new markets or products, and they have made significant positive contributions to the South Florida technology community.
Eligible nominees include CEOs, entrepreneurs, scientists, CIOs, CTOs, senior vice presidents, vice presidents, IT directors and managers, companies and organizations,
university students from a cross section of technology industries, as well as organizations that have developed a significant internal or external technology initiative.
Female Leader in Technology – honors a woman who has demonstrated
exceptional leadership, has distinguished herself by proving her commitment,
talent and success in the technology industry as well as her willingness to lend a
hand. Eligible nominees are owners of a technology business, own a business
using technology as a key strategic driver to create competitive advantage, or are
a leader in the technology sector.
Best University Technology Start-ups – honors college developed business
entrepreneurs and startups focused on technology. Eligible nominees are those
who demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and contribute to the South Florida
community through the development of new technologies. Nominees should
mostly consist of faculty, students and/or recent graduates of a South Florida
college or university.
Technology Entrepreneur of the Year – honors an entrepreneurial professional
whose business is technology focused. Eligible nominees are those who
demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and contribute to the South Florida
community through the development of new technologies. Ideally, the nominees
are founders or owners of a business in South Florida who successfully organized,
developed, or managed a technology-based concept into a commercial product or
Innovative Technology – honors a company that has developed a technology and
application that is ground-breaking. This technology should stand out from existing
solutions as an application that addresses a problem in an innovative way.
Nominees may either be applications or programs that are already available for
release, or those that are still in the development stages.
Best Use of Technology – honors a company that has used technology in a way
that has led to increased productivity. Nominees should be those technologies
that either reduce spending, work hours, or other proven efficiency.
Nominations must be completed and submitted by Monday, February 2, 2015
