The Unbreakable Race Photo Exhibition
December 12, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-5
In March 2012, the principal of ICS, Ines Lozano, photographer Boris Imajo, and a group of volunteers traveled to Ile-a-Vache, Haiti to conduct a photography project with Haitian children. The students of L’Ecole Du Village received an introduction to photography and were given disposable cameras so they could portray their community to the outside world.
Ile-a-Vache, is a small and peaceful island off the south coast of Haiti, far removed from the bustling slums of the capital, Port-au-Prince. Their island is a largely unspoiled paradise, where they live in poverty, virtually oblivious to the outside world, with no roads, or cars or TVs. In order to preserve this unique and beautiful community the island is on a quest for sustainable development, to create jobs for the younger generation and environmental awareness through education.Training sessions will be available for both beginners and advanced riders.
