Here we grow again: WeWork to open 9th Miami area location – and it's massive

WeWork announced Thursday that it will open a coworking center in the Southeast Financial Center in downtown Miami.
It’s hard to keep up, but this brings to 9 the number of Miami area locations open or announced for the coworking giant. WeWork is leasing 89,307 square feet on four floors at the tower, Florida’s largest office building located at 200 S. Biscayne Blvd. Two floors are set to open this year and two are slated to open in 2020.
Just four years ago, WeWork was opening its first Miami Beach location, the Lincoln Road center. Today, the Miami market is the WeWork’s largest by far in the Southeast.  WeWork’s footprint in Florida now totals nearly 750,000 square feet of open and announced locations, with three-quarters of it in South Florida.
WeWork also recently announced locations in Wywood and a new office tower planned in Brickell. WeWorks nine locations are in Miami Beach (2); Brickell (2); downtown Miami (2); Coral Gables (2) and Wynwood.
“WeWork 200 South Biscayne at the Southeast Financial Center further solidifies our commitment to Miami-Dade County and the state of Florida,” said Bobby Condon, WeWork Southeast general manager, in a statement. “When we are looking for new locations around the globe, accessibility and building amenities for our members are top of mind. Not only will WeWork be situated within Miami’s iconic skyline in Florida’s tallest office tower, but our members will also have easy access to public transportation and the Southeast Financial Center’s all-star amenities.”
Earlier this year, WeWork released a Global Impact Report that found that  in Miami and Miami Beach, the WeWork economy directly contributed $630 million of GDP and its members generate 11,000 jobs in the Miami area.
