Here we grow again: WeWork to open in Wynwood

WeWork plans to open a co-working space in Wynwood, taking another big step to increase its footprint in the Miami area.
WeWork at Wynwood Garage,  to be located at 360 NW 27th St., is expected to open in August of this year.   WeWork has signed a lease at the Wynwood Garage, an art-centric mixed-use development in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, and the new space  will occupy the top floor. It will be 32,000 square feet, the smallest of the South Florida locations so far. WeWork’s “unique, urban playground” will accommodate more than 550 WeWork members, said Bobby Condon, Southeast General Manager for WeWork.
Developed by Goldman Properties, Wynwood Garage  is the first and only public parking garage in the Wynwood District and is already a destination for enjoying public art and events. “WeWork’s vibrancy and spirit will further enhance the growth of Wynwood as the center for the creative class,” said Jessica Goldman Srebnick, CEO of Goldman Properties, in a news release.
The new WeWork location – a stone’s throw from Miami’s original co-working space LAB Miami – is the eighth announced or already operating location in Greater Miami. In January, WeWork announced its seventh and biggest location yet – the 146,000 square foot   WeWork 830 Brickell, which is under construction. That came on the heels of WeWork’s announcement of a sixth location, in Coral Gables, all part of an ambitious South Florida growth strategy envisioned from the outset.
Miami has more co-working space per capita than any other U.S. market, likely because it is also a top market for the gig economy’s freelance workforce, startups and small businesses.
