Jobs, jobs, jobs: Ingram Micro Cloud aims to quickly double its Miami workforce, adding 200 positions

The cloud tech leader is planning a Dec. 14 hiring event. Future plans include planting a US hub and academy in the Miami area.

As part of a significant expansion that will double its presence in South Florida, global cloud technology leader Ingram Micro Cloud is recruiting in Miami to fill over 200 open positions, including some in cloud engineering.

The company will hold a hiring event at Top Golf Doral on 11850 NW 22nd Street on Dec. 14 from noon to 8 pm.

With operations in 59 countries, Ingram Micro Cloud is one of the world’s largest providers of innovative  cloud products and services. The Miami expansion is part of the company’s  significant investment in growing the technology company’s presence in South Florida.

“Ingram Micro Cloud has been a part of the Miami community for many years, even hosting our annual Cloud Summit, the largest international gathering of cloud leaders, in this innovative city. We’re thrilled to expand our operations in South Florida, and to create opportunities for the Miami-area’s leading cloud technology, marketing and sales professionals,” said Christian Buerk, Director of Business Development at Ingram Micro Cloud, in a statement. 

The company is based in Irvine, Calf., but it has had offices in Doral — and a team here — for about six years, said John Dusett, Executive Director of Cloud Services.

Currently the company employs about 200 people in South Florida, and now plans to double that number in the first half of 2022, Dusett said. “Miami’s rich talent pool and world-class universities are great resources for finding individuals eager to start a career in high tech.”

Ingram Micro Cloud, a division of the 35,000-employee Ingram Micro, will be seeking cloud engineers in Miami for the first time.

“Cloud is in fact new to our Miami operations and something we’re expanding on with this most recent hiring push. We believe in the future of the cloud for the technology channel and are excited to expand our cloud operations there in the coming months and years,” said Dusett. “We expect to be recruiting for more technical roles in Miami in the future as Ingram Micro Cloud expands there.” 

In addition to cloud engineers, it will also be hiring for sales, marketing, customer support and accounting.

The company’s plans extend for Miami extend beyond hiring. In the coming years, the company plans to develop a U.S. hub that will be a bridge to access its operations in Central and South America. 

Miami will also be the future location of the Ingram Micro Cloud Academy, which will serve as a world-class cloud training center for employees and its vendor and managed service provider partners. The Academy will seek to partner with local universities, veterans’ organizations and other community programs.
